Updated: Juli 2017
To keep your NVIDIA drivers up-to-date you can deploy them with PDQ or SCCM. Download the drivers from the NVIDIA website and extract the zip file to your repository location. Remove any feature folder that you don’t want to install, such as the NV3DVision folder.
Deploy the software with the following command
setup.exe -noreboot -clean -noeula -nofinish -passive
Make sure you select “Include entire Directory” (in PDQ Deploy) / copy all file and folders.
Update 07/2017 – NVI2 folder and EULA.txt are now required to keep in the folder for deployment.
This is great. It did the trick for me. Thanx so much!
I just want to add that for the silent install just add “-s” switch. E.g.:
setup.exe -s -noreboot -clean -noeula -nofinish -passive
Also, in SCCM, for the detection rule, you can look up the Registry key: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000. There will be a DriverVersion string that you can use for the detection (BTW, this string can be used for the detection of any VGA driver version, not just for nVidia).
Cheers!
In SCCM how do you detect that it is installed? Also can you detect the version number for upgrade purposes?
do a custom detection of the nvdisps.dll version
For me (391.89 as of July 27th 2019) I 1. extracted package and copied it to new location (deletes if fails) 2. removed extra stuff i didnt need (3dcamera) 3. created PDQ package of setup.exe with -noeula -clean -nosplashscreen -passive -noreboot
Thanks for the tip!
